Our powder-to-foam formulas create less waste and have less weight (meaning less travel related emissions). They also require no hot processing, saving energy in production.
We'd been using shampoo bars for many years but were getting tired of their squishy, slippery nature and decided make something different. We came across a powdered face wash and the idea was born!
Powder-to-foam products are much easier to use and store than their solid counterparts whilst still significantly reducing waste and emissions - plus we can squeeze in all of the hair loving ingredients you love from your favourite salon shampoos into one tiny bottle. -
This depends on how much hair you have (both length and thickness).
We recommend about a ten cent sized piece for fine, shoulder length as a reference point.
Just like any shampoo it will take a bit of trial and error to figure out how much you personally need. -
Our new formulas (as of October 2024) are all sulphate free.
Whilst we don't believe there is anything wrong with sulphates (read more here), we've found that different surfactants tend to work better for our powder formulas as they're more finely milled and less prone to attracting moisture into the bottle.
The bonus is - if you tend to find shampoos with sulphates too harsh then these are worth giving a go! -
Whilst the ingredients lists of our products would meet most people's definitions of natural or clean, we try to stay away from those claims for that reason - everyone has a different definition and there is no consensus on what these terms actually mean.
We don't want to imply that other products are 'dirty' or unsafe, we want you to use our products because you love them, not because there is fear about other products on the market. That would be dishonest and unfair! We also try to stay away from 'free from' claims unless we think they are particularly relevant to our customers e.g. common allergies like aluminium salts.

A full size bottle will last about the same time as four small bottles of shampoo and is equivalent to around 700-800mL of liquid product.
How long it lasts in terms of months will depend on how much hair you have and how frequently you wash.
If your bottle is lasting significantly less time than you think it should, try using less and adding more water to your hair to lather.
If you are prone to oiliness or have been sweating you may find that the shampoo lathers a little less. This doesn't mean that it's not cleaning. If you want a good lather you can wash a second time with a very small amount of powder for that satisfying bubble!

We recommend our Nourish Shampoo for very sensitive skin / scalp as it contains our gentlest surfactant blend.
It also contains Allantoin, Erythritol, Betaine, Panthenol, Vitamin E and Lecithin (yep, it's a long list!) to soothe the scalp and reduce irritation.
Whilst this is your best bet unfortunately people can be allergic to almost anything so we recommend trying a small size first - if you still have issues with Nourish and skin sensitivity please stop use and let us know. -
We are currently working on sourcing kerbside recyclable pouches to house refills - these will be 100g and will fill a bottle twice.
We have previously tried home compostable refills but found that they didn't hold up for long enough to be useful. We've also consulted with a waste management expert about the best options and have decided that kerbside recyclable is more likely to be useful for the majority of people, as not everyone has access to composting facilities. We also have questions about the actual compostability of these products in ordinary household conditions. -
Of course! We're happy to say that all of our products are both vegan friendly and cruelty free.

This is up to you! Depending on your hair length and type you may or may not prefer to use a conditioner.
Our shampoos contain conditioning polymers which can be enough for people with fine or short hair, but others with longer or thicker hair will probable prefer to also use a conditioner.
Keep an eye out in 2025 for our conditioner range - coming soon!
